HEMISPHERE
Hemisphere is a project focused around a specific type of loneliness stemming from a unchangable systemic situation of standing out. It is the emotional view of the my adoption in a visual form.
This project was finalized as part exhibition and part photo book. Both entitled Hemisphere.
QUIET MIGRATION
Quiet Migration was a short documentary with accompanying still images discussing and looking at interracial adoption. This project was one of the few times I have allowed myself to open up fully about adoptions to others, as it itself is such a niche boundary.
Being able to interview IADT alumni Holly Greene about her experiences and talk to other adoptees was a major part in allowing myself to not feel alone with my emotions.
This project was finalized and presented at a class viewing and a exhibition.
PORTRAITURE
The Portraiture work ranges from multiple different modules and personal work. It ranges from using multiple different studio lights / flashes to using natural sunlight and all there in-between. Part of the work will be of models with previous experiences, utilizing set designers and having worked with make-up artists. Other images will be of friends who volunteered for me to continue develop and learn how to better compose photographs.
These works have been at times exhibited or simply for personal use.
NARRATIVE PROJECT
The Narrative Project was a combined moving image and still image project looking at the disjointed identity of a split ethnicity and nationality, but also while living abroad from either of the two. While the moving images focus on food as identity, the still images look at the emotions of home.
This project was finalized and presented at a class viewing and a exhibition.
PAINTING RECREATION
Painting Recreation was a project about finding and recreating two paintings, one of a still life and the other of a portrait. This was set up in such a manner to be a focused module on working studio lights.
This project was finalized as a corridor exhibition.
